Witherite, Magnetite, Hematite     Walton, Nova Scotia, Canada.  Ex. Dr. Steve Chamberlain collection.  This piece is probably from the Walton Barite Mine in Haunts County.  It came from Ward's minerals division in 1983 and shows what appears to be large witherites overgrown by a second generation of witherite or perhaps dolomite.  It is a nice quality specimen showing only a small area of natural contact on one small surface.  Cracks are present but everything is very stable.  Matrix is magnetite (grayish black) and hematite (chocolate brown).  6.5 x 6.5 x 4.2 cm.   $340
