Tremolite (variety Chromium), Quartz, and Phlogopite     Washburn Farm, Macomb, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected by Michael Walter and David LaLonde, 2018.  There are two known chromium anomalies in northern New York that produce tremolite and neither is readily accessible.  This one on private lands produces the finest, large chrom tremolites in the east.  This is a large thumbnail sized example in massive quartz and it measures in at 4 x 2.9 x 1.7 cm.  All the crystals are doubly-terminated and as can be seen that both termination are complex and crude.  The tremolite is a bright chrome induced green and very translucent.  These specimens are etched from massive calcite so almost always free of any damage like this one is.  Minor mica.  A fine example.  $100
