Tremolite (variety Chromium) and Phlogopite     Washburn Farm, Macomb, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected by Michael Walter and David LaLonde, 2018.  There are two known chromium anomalies in northern New York that produce tremolite and neither is readily accessible.  This one on private lands produces the finest, large chrom tremolites in the east.  This is a crude thumbnail sized example and it measures in at 2.6 x 1.5 x 1 cm.  These are doubly-terminated crystals and as can be seen their terminations are complex.  The tremolite is a bright chrome induced green and very translucent.  It is composed of three crystals.  These specimens are etched from massive calcite so almost always free of any damage like this one is.  Minor transparent mica.  A nice example.  $50
