GD-1360 Tremolite in Calcite Hall Farm, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York. Collected by Michael R. Walter, May 12-13, 2022. This fine example has two well-terminated, attractive green, lightly striated crystals in cream colored calcite. It measures 4.3 x 2.8 x 2.2 cm. The biggest crystal is doubly-terminated and the back crystal is incomplete on its backside. The piece is damage-free front and side views (incomplete from back). Crystals with any terminations, especially nice as these, are extremely uncommon from this area. What makes the piece exceptional is the transparency of the crystals. When backlit the back crystal can be seen to be totally transparent material of facet grade. The front crystal has large gemmy areas but is not all gem material. This is a specimen that would normally be faceted if it were not for the specimens fine terminations. $295
