GD-1359 Tremolite and Fluorapatite Bush Farm, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York. Collected by Michael R. Walter, 2022. This is a well-known historic locality for brown tourmalines (fluor-uvite) and is lesser known for tremolite. It is lesser known because they are normally colorless to white, like this one, and not terminated, UNLIKE this one. Most of these crystals are well- terminated which is highly unusual for the locality. The piece is large measuring 14 x 8 x 7 cm and has an array of highly striated, lustrous crystals on a matrix of Grenville marble. There is one scuffed spot on the face of the piece which shows a slightly whiter area on the largest crystal. There are minor bluish green fluorapatites seen in the close-up image. Overall the piece is in very nice condition. $85
