Tourmaline   (previously known as uvite, now known to be dravite with fluoruvite cores)   Powers Farm, Pierrepont, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Field collected by Michael Walter Summer 2013 from classic site on hilltop.  These specimens collected during the 2013 season are fine examples naturally weathered from a large open vein that was somehow missed by many decades of serious collectors that came before me.  I spent 38 days working the vein to recover these specimens which are all of very fine quality.  Again, these specimens are naturally exposed, not etched, so they are exceptionally stable and the tiny fractures seen in close up views are almost always fully healed.  Most came from a depth of five to ten feet below the surface and many could benefit from further cleaning.  These are all top quality specimens and not the cheap stuff one finds on e-Bay that gets etched from massive calcite in someone's back yard.  A VERY high luster example with super sharp crystals.  Front and side views are really nice.  Sits great and really draws your eye!  5 x 3.3 x 3.5 cm overall with the dravite cluster measuring 3 cm across.  $60
