Tourmaline and Quartz    Powers Farm, Pierrepont, New York.  I collected the specimen in the mid 1990s.  It is composed of large tabular crystals to 3 cm on edge.  The entire piece measures 10 x 8.2 x 7 cm.  All sides displays very well and the piece only shows two natural contacts on its edges.  This grouping is far better than most from locality has it has been naturally weathered out of calcite.  The tourmaline is now known to be dravite on the outside with a core of fluor-uvite.  This is a solid, robust example from this classic East Coast locality.  $360
