Spinel with Diopside     MacDonald Island, NWT, Canada.  This specimen has several morphed crystals of spinel to 1.3 cm each on clear diopside crystals.  The spinel shows nice surface features but no translucence or transparency.  Unlike most diopside crystals they are very transparent and have a somewhat melted look to them.  The piece measures 5.5 x 4.4 x 3.5 cm.  No damage.  $60
