Sphalerite and Pyrrhotite on Galena with Pyrite     Dal'negorsk, Kavalerovo Mining District, Primorsky Kray, Far-eastern Region, Russia.  This strange specimen almost defies description... the large cuboctahedral galena is partially ( about 50%) coated or pseudomorphed by sphalerite.  I've seen many, many hundreds of these galenas and sphalerites yet never one exhibiting this strange characteristic.  There is an ugly pitted pyrrhotite also but that is not what make this a rather unique specimen.  The piece measures 9.2 x 6.1 x 6 cm and all the sides are crystallized and interesting.  It almost looks melted and reformed.  No damage.   $95
