Sphalerite and Quartz     Level 3,970, New Fold, Empire State Mine, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected 2022.  These sphalerite specimens are more typical of the species being very dark, almost black, in color.  This nice combination of contrasting minerals species measures 5.6 x 4.4 x 1.7 cm.  The piece is a nicely shaped, somewhat flat grouping, of translucent crystals of sphalerite and transparent quartz.  Good views all around and no damage.  This is a fine example of this attractive material.  $175
