Sphalerite and Quartz     Level 3,970, New Fold, Empire State Mine, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected 2022.  These sphalerite specimens are more typical of the species being opaque and very dark, almost black, in color.  This nice combination of contrasting minerals species measures 6.5 x 4.3 x 2.8 cm.  The piece is triangular in shape and sits nicely on edge, as shown.  Good views all around with the front and top edge showing finer crystallization.  No damage.  This is a desirable example of this attractive material.  $175
