Sphalerite and Quartz     3,872' Level, Mud Pond Ore Body, Empire State Mine, (Previously Zinc Corp. of America Mines), Titan Mining Corporation, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York.  This combination piece composed of sphalerite and quartz measures 3.6 x 2.5 x 1.7 cm.  The sphalerite crystals are translucent to transparent throughout and a dark amber color with minor red areas.  Very gemmy for the species.  Most surfaces on bottom and back are healed.  Excellent condition, as seen.  $300
