Sphalerite     3,872' Level, Mud Pond Ore Body, Empire State Mine, (Previously Zinc Corp. of America Mines), Titan Mining Corporation, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York.  This piece is composed entirely of one large sphalerite that measures 2.2 x 2 x 1.2 cm.  The sphalerite crystal is transparent throughout and a dark amber color with minor red areas.  Very gemmy for the species.  Excellent condition.  $120
