Sphalerite     Level 3,970, New Fold, Empire State Mine, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected 2022.  These sphalerite specimens are more typical of the species being very dark, almost black, in color.  This single crystal measures 1.7 x 1.6 x .7 cm.  It is mildly translucent, lustrous, and has an attractive form.  Several tiny compression marks, as seen.  $40
