Sphalerite and Calcite     Level 3,970, New Fold, Empire State Mine, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected 2022.  This is the fine material first seen from this area in 2019.  Large gemmy crystals to 1.2 cm compose this cluster that measures 2.5 x 2.2 x 1.4 cm.  The back is flat, once a contact with a calcite crystal and the base is flat, a cleave.  The piece sits on its edge, on the cleave, for a nice display.  Minor edge contacts but damage-free front face.  A fine example.  $200
