Cobaltoan Smithsonite       Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia, South West Africa.  Ex. Thomas G. Fowler collection.  An attractive specimen due to the fine contrast between the black magnesite base and the light pink smithsonites coating it almost everywhere.  It measures 5.7 x 5.2 x 3.5 cm and has large, sharply formed pink crystals to 1.2 cm each.  Base contact only with fronts and sides being damage free.  It displays nicely from any direction.  There are several small areas of sparkling smithsonites druse of a lighter color on a few crystals.  An exceptionally fine smithsonites specimen in any regard.  $1,700 on sale for $935
