Rutile on Hematite Cavradishlacht, Switzerland. Ex. Paul and Dawne Dunning Collection. These hematite blades, to a cm each, are in close formation and show well developed rutiles, in a sixling twinned formation on their surfaces. The rutiles are nicely terminated and everything is free of damage. The rutiles are a rich red color and highly striated. The hematite has a light iridescence. In hand this is very impressive and a rare find on today’s market. I don’t often see European classics like this one and certainly not is outstanding shape such as this fine example. 1.4 x 1.6 cm…wafer thin, of course. Backside is almost equally as beautiful. Aesthetic, classic specimen. $280
