Rhodochrosite     N. Cape Province, South Africa.  Ex. Thomas Fowler collection.  Bladed rhodochrosite forming a ball on matrix.  Measures 2.4 x 2.1 x 1.3 cm.  It represents the rarest form found at the mines and was only encountered once.  That single pocket produced only a handful of specimens.  The were collected by the then mine manager Desmond Sacco.  The description of this discovery is in the 2017, Jan. Feb. issue of The Mineralogical Record (vol. 48, no. 1, p. 102-103).  No damage, minor edge contacts.  Mounted in a perky box.  Nice.  $390
