Quartz (var. Herkimer Diamond)    Treasure Mountain Mine, Little Falls, New York.  Collected by Michael Walter, 2002.  This piece has a nicely formed, single crystal on crystallized dolomite.  The piece is measures 6.8 x 5 x 5 cm overall.  It is dominated by the large centrally placed crystal with minor amounts of matrix.  This is a very attractive piece that fails to show well in the images I take.  The internal fracturing and inclusions are typical.  The specimen is very lustrous and has terminations sharp enough to cut you.  It is damage-free and highly desirable.  $245
