Quartz and Calcite    Dafoe Property, Pierrepont, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected by Tim Dafoe and Michael Walter, May 11, 2019.  This discovery produced some of the finest examples of quartz known from this prolific township famous for its tourmaline and tremolite specimens.  This is a stunning piece measures 8 x 5.5 x 5 cm.  The larges quartz point is 3.4 cm long.  The quartz have exceptionally high luster and beautiful form.  The calcites are less attractive but make for a nice contrast for these show-stopping quartz.  The largest crystal has a very tiny termination rub visible with magnification and all the calcite along the lower edge is cleave, as can be seen. This being said, the piece is a fine one for the location and few as nice as this were produced.  This important find that was documented in Rocks & Minerals magazine.  I give a brief description of the occurrence here   https://www.geologicdesire.com/copy-of-mining   This specimen is $750.
