Quartz and Calcite    Dafoe Property, Pierrepont, St. Lawrence County, New York.  Collected by Tim Dafoe and Michael Walter, May 2019.  This discovery produced some of the finest examples of quartz known from this prolific township famous for its tourmaline and tremolite specimens.  This is a magnificent piece that measures 22 x 12 x 8 cm.  The larges quartz point is 5 cm long.  The quartz have exceptionally high luster and beautiful form.  The calcites are less attractive but make for a nice contrast for these show-stopping quartz.  The large, important crystals are damage-free but a quartz near the lower region of the piece is dinged.  Back is trimmed (sawn) down and could use more work however the front displays great.  One of the top 10 specimens from this important find that was also documented in Rocks & Minerals magazine.  I give a brief description of the occurrence here   https://www.geologicdesire.com/copy-of-mining   This specimen is $750.
