Prehnite and Epidote     Sadiola Hill (Sadiola Mine), Kayes Region, Mali, Africa.  These beauties were brought to the United States by the late Rock Currier.  They certainly rank among the finest prehnites ever found and and were recovered in such quantity that everyone can own one at a reasonable cost.    He imported thousands, but this example was culled from those and represents what the finest of the thumbnail-sized examples look like.  This piece measures 3.1 x 3.1 x 3.1 cm and is almost a perfect sphere.  It has a satin or frosted luster, is a perfect floater with no damage, and all the epidotes are small and translucent.  There are a couple hollow areas showing it was a cast after another species, too.  A fantastic example.  $50
