Grossular, Vesuvianite, and Diopside     York River Skarn Zone, near Bancroft, Ontario, Canada.  Collected by Michael Walter, 1992.  This is an outstanding example of this material that measures 3.1 x 2.4 x 2.2 cm overall.  It is dominated by two large garnets and has one tiny brown vesuvianite and a couple green diopside crystals.  No damage, a couple very minor contacts with other crystals.  Patchy looking appearance is due to large gemmy areas in the crystals and color variations in the garnets in a couple spots.  This is an outstanding thumbnail sized piece from a location now closed to all future collecting.  $225
