Fulgurite   From lightning strike that occurred in Oswego, New York on August 25, 2008.  Collected by Jeffery Shallit of Kitchener, Ontario and nephew and sons (Joseph, Jonah and Arlo).  Reference Rocks & Minerals magazine, May June 2011 issue, vol. 86, no. 3, p. 264-70.  This ground fulgurite is a beauty measuring 10 x 5.7 x 5.7 cm.  It is composed of a branching tube that shows off its glassy interior on its ends.  The surface incorporated several stones to 2.2 cm each.  This is a very nice, damage-free, example with more interesting surface details than most.  $150
