Fluorite     Catron County, New Mexico. (These specimens should probably be relabeled to Pine Canyon in Grant Co., per note in the locality for MinDat).  Apparently Catron Co. was a long-time subterfuge to prevent anyone from finding the actual spot and no actual fluorites like this have been found in Catron County. Crystals to 1.3 cm each on a 4 x 3.5 x 2.1 cm specimen. Attractive complete crystals with the typical form but a more unusual grape purple color. Some edge contacts. A good piece. $80
