Fluor-uvite Bush Farm, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York. Collected by Michael Walter, June 12, 2011. These are the few remaining specimens from an important find in 2011 that was written about by myself, Drs. George Robinson and Steve Chamberlain in the 2016, vol. 91, no. 6, Nov/Dec. issue of Rocks and Minerals Magazine. On pages 521-527 we describe numerous important finds, however I believe this to be the best of all those many (almost 200) years. Rich brown tourmalines with noteworthy gemmy areas of facet grade material were recovered. These represent the finest fluor-uvites known... and they are even fluorescent!  This thumbnail sized crystal measures 2.1 x 1.3 x 1 cm with steeper terminations than most. There are contacts including a ball shaped on the front at the base. All surfaces are healed and the specimen presents itself as a rare double terminated floater. No damage. A very fine piece. $180
