Calcite and Herkimer "Like" Quartz.  Lowville, Lewis County, New York.  This is one of the very fine examples of calcite found at this occurrence, and there were not many.  I kept it for my collection but am downsizing and no longer collecting this material.  It measures 5.6 x 4.7 x 3.2 cm.  There are transparent, amber colored calcites heavily included by hydrocarbons.  Some crystals are doubly and some singly-terminated.  It is damage-free, exceptionally lustrous (a greasy looking luster), and beautifully colored.  There are several water clear "Herks" in the base of the piece, seen in the first image.  This is an exceptional New York State miniature sized specimen.   $500
