Calcite    4,051 Level, Lower Mahler, Empire State Mine, Balmat, St. Lawrence County, New York.  On June 8th, 2023 and enormous pocket was hit at Balmat.  It is the most impressive discovery in the long history of this important New York State zinc mine.  Numerous fine colored calcites were recovered over approximately a month of work by miners.  This piece measures 2.3 x 2 x 1.1 cm and is composed of several damage-free, transparent, lustrous crystals.  $30
