Betafite and Quartz with Hematite     Silver Crater Mine, near Bancroft, Ontario, Canada.  Ex. John Davis collection.  John field collected these crystals long ago when they were being found loose in the soil.  They are slightly radioactive and fine examples rarely seen in available in today's mineral market.  This one measures 3.5 x 3.1 x 3 cm and is a matrix piece with beautifully formed crystals to 2.5 cm each.  The piece is very unusual in that it shows botryoidal hematite coatings in bubbles and layers on both the betafites and the clear quartz (which is barely visible.  No damage.  An exceptionally unusual and interesting specimen.  $350
