Baryte (form stalactite)     Rock Island Road Cut, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York, collected 2013.  This is another rare specimen with light blue crystals of baryte.  The coloration on this one is quite light, as they always are.  Approximately one in fifty specimens from this pocket will have any blue in its makeup.  Of those most are damaged (this was a collapsed pocket so almost all the specimens recovered were damaged).  This fan shaped stalactite is 5.5 x 4.4 x 2.4 cm.  The piece is damage-free, dense, and attractive.  The find is well documented in the Mineral News and Rock & Mineral magazines.    $220
