Baryte    Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia. Ex. Harold L. Dibble collection. Like barytes from other Georgia locations these things are as "rare as hens teeth". I've seldom seen these any larger than thumbnail sized specimens, they are almost always damaged, and again, simply uncommon. This fine example is an attractive plate of crystals measuring 4 x 3 x 2.5 with crystals to approximately 2.3 cm each. There is one crystal missing on the back and on its edge as seen from the rear side images.  This is not immediately evident, not distracting… and on the back. Front, sides, and top views are stunning. Minor Styrofoam on the specimen’s base.  I think these barytes are among the most recognizable of the barytes from Georgia due to their unusual form. I've spoken with locals who know this site is no longer producing specimens and understand the importance of fine examples like this.   $325
