Barite Stalactites     Rock Island Road Cut, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York, collected 2013.  This is another rare specimen with blue crystals of barite.  The coloration on this one is very light, as many are.  Approximately one in fifty specimens from this pocket will have any blue in its makeup.  Of those most are damaged (remember this was a collapsed pocket so almost all the specimens recovered were damaged).  The front of this one has a bluish tint and the back is completely white.  The stalactites composing it are packed tightly and terminate in beautiful coliform bundles of barite crystals.  5.9 x 4 x 2.3 cm.  No damage.   $250
