Barite Stalactites     Rock Island Road Cut, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York, collected 2013.  This is another rare specimen with blue crystals of barite.  The coloration on this one is light, as they always are.  Approximately one in fifty specimens from this pocket will have any blue in its makeup.  Of those most are damaged (remember this was a collapsed pocket so almost all the specimens recovered were damaged).  This coliform cluster of stalactites heavy and thick at its top.  The damage free crystals are attractive and radiate outward in groupings at the terminations of the closely packed stalactites.  5.5 x 5.5 x 4.4 cm.    $240
